Tutoring FAQ

Questions about AI & vibe coding tutoring

What is vibe coding tutoring?

Here, vibe coding means building with AI assistance while deliberately reading, explaining and testing the result. You learn to make small changes and judge whether they work, rather than accepting generated code without understanding it.

Can I learn AI agents, MCP and workflow automation?

Yes, when they fit your project and starting level. Agentic engineering introduces bounded tool workflows, permissions and failure checks. MCP connects AI tools to data and apps. We can explore these ideas with local simulations; live integrations and paid accounts are optional.

Do I need coding experience?

No. Beginners start with the foundations their project needs. Experienced learners skip ahead to architecture, testing, and working effectively with AI tools.

What if I don't have an idea yet?

That's the first milestone. We explore your interests and the problems around you until we find something worth building and realistic to start.

Can I bring an existing project?

Yes. We'll review where it stands, decide on a clear next version, and continue from there.

Can this become a portfolio project?

It can. Many learners want something they can show and explain. We focus on understanding and honest documentation — we can't promise any admissions or hiring outcome.

How do online and in-person tutoring work?

Online sessions use video and screen sharing on your own computer. In-person sessions happen in Sammamish and the Eastside, ideally in a public library space when permitted and available; we agree on the location in advance.

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope, starting experience, and practice between sessions. The twelve modules are a map of capabilities, not a promise of twelve lessons. Some take several meetings; familiar parts can move faster.

Do I need paid AI tools?

Usually not to start. We pick tools that fit the project and respect each vendor's age requirements. For learners under 13, live AI interaction is operated by the instructor.

Can I continue after finishing my first project?

If you'd like to. When the first version is done you can stop there or keep developing it. Nothing renews automatically.

How do you handle AI and academic integrity?

AI is a tool we learn to use and review critically — not a way to outsource schoolwork. Learners document how AI helped, and tutoring is never used to complete graded assignments for someone.
